Pilates Reformer

What is Pilates?

The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning, developed by Joseph H. Pilates, is a total body workout that’s been around for decades, but recently has become more popular as people search for a safer, more natural way to get fit. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys the outdoors and wants to build strength, flexibility, and overall well-being.

Pilates is a great alternative workout that strengthens, stretches, and defines muscles at the same time. It helps align the body and reduces tension and strain on the joints, making it a great way to stay injury-free while staying active. It’s a mind-body approach that focuses on good body mechanics, the connection between breath and movement, and staying present in the moment—just what you need for both physical and mental wellness.

Pilates has thousands of variations but is often performed on specialized equipment or simply on the mat with no equipment needed.  Pilates is adaptable for people of all fitness levels — from those seeking general conditioning to high-level athletes returning to sport.
